Audit Genie is a free home energy audit for Alberta homeowners. By using the site you agree to the following.
The service
- Audit Genie is a free tool that produces an estimated home energy upgrade plan based on your answers and Alberta averages.
- It produces estimates only. Savings figures, payback periods, and energy-use numbers are estimates, not guarantees. Actual results depend on your home, weather, utility rates, and the work done.
- Rebate and financing eligibility, amounts, and terms are set by each program (e.g., Alberta programs, City of Edmonton programs), not by Audit Genie. Confirm program details with the program before you buy. Programs can change or close without notice.
- Audit Genie is not a contractor and does not perform inspections, installations, or engineering. For structural, electrical, gas, or building-code decisions, consult a qualified professional.
Quotes and contractor partners
- The audit itself is free and no sign-up is required.
- If you request a quote, we share your request with one or more local contractor partners (furnace/water heater, insulation, windows) so they can contact you. A partner contractor may pay us a referral fee for the introduction. That referral relationship does not change your plan — your plan is yours whether or not you request a quote.
- Any price, warranty, schedule, or work-scope a contractor offers is between you and that contractor. Audit Genie does not guarantee contractor pricing, quality, or availability.
Your content and data
- Your audit answers, plan, and any uploaded files (e.g., a gas bill) belong to you.
- We process them under our Privacy Policy. You can ask for your data to be deleted by contacting admin@auditgenie.ca.
Accounts
- You can use the audit without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
Links and third parties
- The site may link to third-party sites (government programs, contractors, utility sites). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or terms.
Disclaimers
- The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by Alberta law. We don't guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that estimates will match your actual bills or rebates.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its estimates.
